Things to Do in the Ourika Valley

The Ourika Valley is about an hour from Marrakech, following the Ourika river up through Berber villages and argan-oil cooperatives to the waterfalls above Setti Fatma. It's a popular weekend spot for Marrakchis themselves, so the roadside cafés and the walk up to the falls get genuinely crowded on Fridays and Sundays — go on a weekday if you can. The falls are a scramble over wet rock rather than a groomed path, so proper shoes matter more than the brochure photos suggest.
