Things to Do in the High Atlas
Beyond Imlil and Ourika, the High Atlas opens into quieter valleys around Asni, Ouirgane and Amizmiz, with Lake Lalla Takerkoust offering a reservoir view rather than a natural lake. These villages see far fewer coach tours than Ourika, which is exactly the appeal if you've already done the popular valley and want mule tracks and mudbrick kasbahs without the crowds. Roads are winding and some villages are reachable only on foot or by mule, so plan around one specific valley rather than trying to loop through the whole High Atlas in a single day.
